Trumpet is an external whistleblowing function that gives you a secure process in which you can remain completely anonymous. If you do not write your name in the report yourself, it is not possible to see who submitted the case. Trumpet has been developed according to the highest standards of confidentiality and security. Organizations that offer Trumpet want to prevent wrongdoing, provide a legally secure process, and increase trust in their organization.
We who are behind Trumpet are called Whitepaper Advisors—a company with solid experience in investigating, handling, and preventing misconduct and economic crime.
In the early 2000s, a number of major corporate scandals erupted that shook the business world and resulted in enormous losses of value. A new law was adopted in the United States, the “Sarbanes–Oxley Act,” which affected the requirements and the way organizations needed to work with internal control.
This opened the door to work with risk-related issues, which has since been a common thread for us behind Whitepaper Advisors. We work with and support companies and organizations by providing advice related to whistleblowing functions and investigations of various types of wrongdoing.
In December 2021, the EU Whistleblowing Directive entered into force, imposing requirements on larger organizations to establish whistleblowing channels. In recent years, we have seen whistleblowing functions that are not secure, or where whistleblowers do not feel safe communicating directly with their organization.
We created Trumpet to offer a secure and complete whistleblowing function. In Trumpet, communication takes place between the whistleblower and us as external case handlers. At the same time as it should be easy and safe for the person reporting, it should provide reassurance for the organization that the case is being handled by competent case handlers.
